EQUICARES Horizon Europe Project: Advancing Equitable Mental Healthcare
SEERC is proud to be a partner in EQUICARES, a Horizon Europe project aimed at transforming mental health and care services to ensure equitable access for individuals in vulnerable situations.
The project leverages advanced tools and methodologies to address healthcare inequalities. These include the Levesque framework and Computational Social Sciences, which provide innovative approaches to analyzing and resolving disparities in care systems.
EQUICARES utilizes digital ethnography to map and connect mental health solutions across various systems, creating a comprehensive understanding of existing gaps and opportunities for collaboration. One of the project’s key outputs is an interactive Atlas, designed to support policymakers in making informed decisions for strategic healthcare planning.
To ensure practical impact, EQUICARES is conducting pilot programs across 8 regions in 7 countries. These pilots test innovative solutions in real-world settings, fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
The project also introduces “Smart Health Labs,” which serve as hubs for community co-creation, and a novel AI Assistant aimed at improving mental health literacy and digital skills among users.
Through these efforts, EQUICARES aims to deliver actionable insights, cost analyses, and practical tools that empower policymakers and communities to develop sustainable, inclusive healthcare policies. This ambitious initiative represents a significant step forward in bridging healthcare gaps and ensuring equitable access for all.
