Students applying for full-time positions on the programme must have an excellent academic record, and should normally possess a Master's Degree. Part-time students are expected to be mid-career professionals with strong educational and professional backgrounds, and normally in possession of a Master's degree. Applicants for part time positions must submit proposals that demonstrate a clear linkage between their current work and their PhD topic.

Each year a Call for Applications is published on the SEERC website and applicants are invited to submit their research proposals, either to specific topics or under a broad thematic area as advertised in the Call. Following the Call and after having chosen their preferred topic of study, candidates should proceed with preparing their application.

Important Information
If you need a visa to study in Greece (i.e. you are coming from outside the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland), you will not be able to undertake paid work whilst studying. This means that you will need to ensure that you have an alternative source of income to cover your tuition fees (if you are not in receipt of a fee waiver), living costs and other expenses. Please note that this does not constitute immigration advice and you must check with the relevant authorities.
