SEERC initiates activities that lead to funded research projects tackling issues of importance at a regional, European and international level, with a particular focus on South East Europe. Since its establishment in 2003, SEERC has received funding for a significant number of research projects by various funding agencies and funding programmes. These include programmes of the European Commission (FP7, eContentplus, FP6, DAPHNE III, Youth in Action, Leonardo da Vinci, eTen), programmes from the UK Economics and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, programmes of the Greek General Secretariat for Research and Technology (EUREKA Eurostars, PENED), and the International Labour Organization (ILO) of the United Nations.
