Boon Toh graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology in 2018 from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. He then obtained a distinction for the MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience in 2019 with the University of York, UK. His dissertation, under the supervision of Dr Fiona McNab, investigating distractor filtering in working memory was also awarded 2019 Project Prize for the cohort by the department. After the Masters degree, he went on to work as a research assistant in social sciences and later taught an elective class (Experimental Methods in Cognitive Neuroscience) for undergraduate Psychology students at HELP University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Since the start of 2022, he is pursuing the York-CITY Collaborative PhD in Psychology under scholarship by the SEERC, based in Thessaloniki. His research focus is mainly in working memory and attention, with a broader general interest in neuroimaging methods.
