Celebrating Innovation: The RRIstart Hackathon Success Story
Added on 01/03/2024

This February, Rome became the epicenter of innovation as it hosted the RRIstart  Hackathon from the 21st to the 23rd. The event kicked off with over 100 students delving into their ideas on the topics of "Sustainability & Mobility" and "Sport & Wellness," all vying for the opportunity to receive support in developing their startup along with a 4,000 euro prize!

The Hackathon opened with enlightening presentations from esteemed speakers including Sabrina Lucibello of Sapienza Università di Roma, Maria Angeli Ilari from Lazio Innova, Roberto Ponti of Eni Joule, and Federico Smanio from Wylab. Their insights paved the way for a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities within these sectors.

Following the presentations, the RRIstart project partners unveiled the guidelines and introduced the Responsible Research and Innovation network they've meticulously crafted. These guidelines are not just rules but beacons guiding the contestants toward sustainability in innovation.

Participants then dove into workshops focusing on AI integration and business model design, arming them with the tools needed to refine their projects. The event wasn't just a competition; it was a journey of learning, innovation, and responsibility towards creating a sustainable future.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners - Sapienza Università di Roma,YET, Wageningen University & Research, EBAN and Knowledge and Innovation - for their invaluable support in making this event a reality. Together, we're not just hosting events; we're nurturing the next generation of innovators and leaders.
