SEERC is proud to stand behind the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme, a vital EU initiative designed to uphold and advance the core principles of equality, rights, and democratic values across Europe. Launched in 2021 for a seven-year period, CERV operates as part of the EU's Justice, Rights and Values Fund, working to ensure that European societies remain inclusive, open, and rights-based.
The CERV programme supports a wide range of projects that focus on:
- Protecting and promoting fundamental rights and values as enshrined in the EU Treaties, the Charter of Fundamental Rights, and international human rights conventions.
- Fostering open and inclusive societies that are grounded in the rule of law and democratic governance.
- Empowering civil society at all levels, from local to transnational, enabling individuals and organizations to engage in democratic, civic, and social participation.
- Preserving European history and shared values, while encouraging diversity and mutual understanding among European citizens.
- Combating gender-based violence and addressing social inequalities, ensuring that every citizen has equal access to their rights and protections.
CERV provides financial support to both public and private entities, including state administrations, local and regional authorities, universities, research institutes, and non-governmental organizations. Through this programme, these entities can implement projects that align with CERV’s goals of creating a more equal, just, and inclusive European society.
