Representatives from the ‘Enterprise Works’ hub of the University of York have visited Thessaloniki and together with CITY College members engaged in business meetings, presentations and events that took place at the Thessaloniki Innovation Zone.
'Enterprise Works' is a new business hub of the University of York that helps businesses to grow and drives social change by encouraging and supporting entrepreneurial activity.
Joining the hub’s activities, CITY College representatives Prof. Panayiotis KETIKIDIS, BSc, MSc, Ph.D., Dr Nikos Tsorakidis, Mr. Nikos Zaharis gave an expert introduction to the local markets, participated in 1-2-1 meetings and assisted in bringing together the visiting companies with a range of relevant local businesses.
The gathering in Thessaloniki was joined by three North Yorkshire companies: Nature’s Laboratory, TestCard and Asclepius Healthcare, who demonstrated relevant sector links to the Greek market with significant potential to benefit from the trip.
The University of York intends to continue its relationship with the entrepreneurs, who will be sharing their expertise, stories and experience with the student and local entrepreneurial communities. Given the success of this exciting pilot program, the university is exploring opportunities to provide a similar venture to Greece, and with other global partners next year.
