We are happy to announce the successful completion of the 16th Annual Postgraduate Research Conference (PGR2023), organized by South East European Research Centre (SEERC), the research centre of CITY College, University of York Europe Campus, which was held on the 30th and 31st of May, 2023.
We would like to thank all presenters for their fantastic presentations and for sharing the wonderful research that is currently being carried out at CITY College and SEERC on a doctoral and postgraduate level. Participants at the conference were given a unique chance to see how our students are pushing the boundaries of their field and contributing to generating new knowledge across disciplines. A big thank you goes out to all our discussants who contributed to a fruitful and lively discussion and for helping our young researchers see their research from a different light.
All participants were extremely active with questions and comments addressed to the 17 presenters that participated this year. Discussants further forwarded their feedback forms to the presenters as additional feedback contributing to the main goal of the conference, that is, for young researchers to receive and consider high quality feedback.
The other aim of the conference was to offer high-quality research training to participating young researchers. To facilitate this, PGR2023 further included 3 Research seminars and workshops provided by experienced researchers that were aimed at boosting our young researchers’ research and soft skills, from maintaining a successful online profile to applying for grants.
Finally, a warm-hearted thank you to Dr. Atsalakis who joined us from the Technical University of Crete to offer us a stimulating presentation on the relationship between industry and academia as well as the impact of new technological advancements on academia.
We would like to thank all participants, session chairs, discussants, research workshop organizers, presenters, and organizers for creating an enjoyable and stimulating atmosphere.
We look forward to the next one (PGR2024), where we aim to use this year's experience and offer another successful event maximizing participation and engagement!
