The kick-off meeting of the MORMED project took place on the 29th and 30th of March 2010 in Thessaloniki, and was hosted by the South East European Research Centre (SEERC).
MORMED (Multilingual Organic Information Management in the Medical Domain) is an CIP ICT Policy Support Programme-funded research project initiated in March 1st, 2010. It aims at combining the semantically-enhanced social networking and content management OrganiK platform with technologies enabling machine translation and post-editing by human experts to make content available in multiple languages. MORMED will be piloted in a community interested in Lupus or Antiphospholipid Syndrome (Hughes Syndrome), involving researchers, medical doctors, general practitioners, patients and patient support groups.
Expected Project Results:
- A multilingual thematic community platform (piloted in rare diseases).
- Relevant linguistic resources (e.g. corpora, taxonomies, translation workflows, etc)
- Content (e.g. blog posts, wiki articles, bookmarks, etc)
- Dissemination activities (workshops, presentations, articles, etc)
