The "Thessaloniki Semantic Web Meetup group" was founded in October 2009 with the aim of bringing together local researchers and practioners who are interested in Semantic Web technologies and their applications, to discuss and exchange views on contemporary topics in this field on a regular basis. The 2nd "Thessaloniki Semantic Web Meetup" took place on the 26th of January 2010, and was hosted by SEERC.
The meeting featured a presentation by Dr Michail Salampasis, Assistant Professor at the Alexander Technology Educational Institute (ATEI) of Thessaloniki. The talk was about the SeEBrowser (Semantically Enhanced Browser) research project, whose aim is to improve the accessibility of websites to visually impaired persons with the help of semantic markup.
The meeting was attended by 15 people from the Aristole University of Thessaloniki, the University of Macedonia, the Informatics and Telematics Institute at CERTH, the Alexander Technology Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, CITY College - International Faculty of the University of Sheffield, and the South East European Research Centre.
