The 4th Balkan Conference in Informatics (BCI 2009) is taking place on the 17th, 18th, and 19th of September 2009, in Thessaloniki, Greece. SEERC is a co-organiser of the conference, along with CITY College, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Macedonia at Thessaloniki, the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, and the Greek Computer Society.
BCI 2009 is a continuation to the successful conference series of BCI 2007 which was held in Sofia, BCI 2005 which was held in Ohrid, and BCI 2003 which was held in Thessaloniki. The aim of the conference series is to provide a forum for discussions and dissemination of research achievements in the domain of informatics, to promote interaction and collaboration among scientists from the Balkans and beyond, and to encourage involvement of young researchers from the region.
This year's event will host invited keynote talks by three distinguished scientists:
- Michail Bletsas (Director of Computing, MIT Media Lab, USA)
- Keith Jeffery (Director, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK)
- Dimitris Karagiannis (University of Vienna, Austria)
