SEERC, the research centre of the International Faculty of the University of Sheffield - CITY College in Thessaloniki, successfully organized on February 13, 2014, an Investor Workshop with the title “VIBE - WORKSHOP FOR CROSS-BORDER START-UP INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES IN SOUTH-EAST EUROPE”, within the framework of the project ‘VIBE – Venture Initiative in the Balkan Europe’.
During the workshop, which was held on SEERC premises, representatives of the Greek investment community, the government, incubators and support services had the opportunity to discuss and exchange views regarding the particularities of the startup-investor relations in the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the SEE region, as well as the challenges and benefits of cross-border and syndicated investment strategies. Also the various opportunities and benefits that the VIBE project offers for the active involvement of investors were presented. The appeal of Ms Jelina Makrantonaki, Vice Governor of the Prefecture of Central Macedonia in International Outlook, Innovation and New Technologies, that the implementation of the appropriate funding mechanisms for a strong development of the entrepreneurial landscape in the region would need the determined and combined effort of all key players, was well received and confirmed by all participants.
