Evi Tramantza holds an MSc Econ in Information and Library Studies from the University of Wales. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature (American College of Greece) and a Teaching qualification (TEFL). She is a Chartered librarian (MCLIP) and currently works for the University of Surrey as the Academic Liaison Librarian for the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. She is the secretary of the ASLIB: Engineering and Technology Group, she is a member of the USTLG: University Science and Technology Librarians Group. She is a member and mentor of CILIP (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals). She is a reviewer for the Journal of Information Literacy. Currently she is a PhD student of the University of Sheffield and South-East European Research Centre looking into Engineering students' Information Literacy perceptions and needs in the UK and in Greece.
