Submission Instructions

Presentation & Participation

Authors will submit extended abstracts and, once accepted, will be invited to present their work at the conference in the form of roundtable discussions. In the round table discussions authors working in similar subject areas will present their work in front of a small panel consisting of academics with significant research expertise and experience in the relevant area as well as doctoral students working in the same or very similar area.

Extended Abstract Requirements

Extended abstracts should be between 500 and 1000 words, or up to 3 pages using the template provided below (author information, keywords and bibliography do not count towards the limit).

For this abstract seven main areas should be addressed:
  • Purpose
  • Design methodology/conceptual framework or approach
  • Findings: knowledge contribution originality and value (academic/practitioner)
  • Implications: practical and social (this area is optional as not all papers will address all these)
  • Limitations
  • 5 main keywords
  • Key bibliography

Purpose: This section should include a justification of why this topic merits pursuing as well as the aim of the study and its main objectives.

Design methodology/approach: This section should include the main hypotheses that underlie the research as well as the methods that will be employed to meet the research objectives set. Depending on the nature of the research, please provide a brief overview of the research design of the study, the theoretical context or the conceptual framework used to illuminate your object of inquiry and type of analysis conducted.

Findings - knowledge contribution, originality and value (academic/practitioner): Depending on the type of study conducted, provide a brief overview of the main findings or projected findings of the research or analysis of primary data. Also consider where the novelty of your research lies and its contribution to and beyond academia.

Implications (practical and social): This section should consider what the potential implications of your research will be for the academic and practitioner community as well as society at large.

Limitations: This section should acknowledge the potential limitations to the research process and, where applicable, make suggestions for prospective research.

Keywords: Mention 5 words that reflect your research.

References: Include a list of key references.

How to Submit

We are using the Conference Management Toolkit (CMT) developed by Microsoft Research, which can be accessed using the following link:

Authors need to:
  1. Create an account at the website.
  2. Log in with their account.
  3. Click on the "Create new submission" button.
  4. Select their conference track.
  5. Fill in the submission form.

Review Process

All submitted abstracts will undergo a double peer-review process by members of the Scientific Committee based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance to the conference topic
  • Theoretical argument and research aims
  • Research method and design
  • Potential findings
  • General conclusions
