PhDICTKES: The Inauguration of the National Research School in ICT (NRSI) in Kosovo

SEERC and CITY College, University of York Europe Campus are honored to announce the inauguration of the National Research School in ICT (NRSI), which was organized on March 3rd, 2023 in the premises of the University of Prishtina.

The National Research School in ICT (NRSI) is a result of the PhDICTKES (Erasmus+) project and aims to provide specialized training and education to students and professionals in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). It marks as a significant achievement of the project towards innovation and capacity building regarding the field of ICT in Kosovo.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Albin Kurti, representatives of the government and diplomatic missions in the country, rectors of partner universities, academics and students from Kosovo and abroad. It included speeches by officials and academics as well as presentations on the vision and goal of NRSI.

SEERC director Mr. Nikos Zaharis attended the ceremony and through his speech emphasized the commitment of SEERC and CITY College, University of York Europe Campus to continue supporting and cooperating with the National Research School in ICT (NRSI), in terms of academic capacity building, staff and student mobility and research cooperation.

The PhDICTKES project is a joint initiative of the Kosovo government, the European Union, and local and international universities and organizations as Linnaeus University (LNU), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), South-East European Research Centre (SEERC), University of Prishtina (UP), UBT College (UBT), Ukshin Hoti University (UHU), Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST). The project aims to support the development of the ICT sector in Kosovo by providing specialized training and education, promoting research and innovation, and creating new job opportunities.
