It is with great sadness that we share the news of the unexpected loss of Michael Siegal, Professor of Psychology at the University of Sheffield, who died suddenly on 19th February 2012.

Michael was an exceptional scientist who contributed greatly to our understanding of language acquisition and language development. He was always enthusiastic to embark in a new research adventure, and had a close collaboration with SEERC and the Psychology Department at City College. In the last two years he co-supervised our student Aristea Ladas on the influence of education and socio-economical status on cognitive performance of Greek-Albanian bilinguals.

His colleagues and friends at SEERC and City College are in shock at the news of this terrible loss.

Our heart goes to his family.
