This volume consists of papers presented at the 3nd Annual South East European Doctoral Student Conference (DSC2008) which took place on the 26th and 27th of June 2008, in Thessaloniki, Greece, and was organised by the South East European Research Centre. Building on the success of DSC2006 and DSC2007, this year's conference attracted an even larger number of submissions and resulted in around 85 presentations of papers and posters. Once again the conference was multidisciplinary in nature, and was organised around four following themes which map to the research areas in which SEERC is active:
- Enterprise and Regional Development
- Information and Communication Technologies
- Governance, Politics, and Society
- Risk, Well-Being, and Cognition
