The 1st Annual SEERC Doctoral Student Conference (DSC2006) took place on July 10, 2006, in Thessaloniki, Greece, and was organised by the South East European Research Centre. The aim of the conference was to initiate an exchange of knowledge between young researchers and to help establish a network of scholars currently undertaking research in South East Europe. The conference was multidisciplinary in nature, and was divided into four thematic areas / parallel sessions: (i) Business and Economics, (ii) Information Technology and IT Policy, (iii) Political and Social Issues, (iv) Psychology and Culture. There where 25 presentations by young researchers, primarily from the Doctoral Programme of SEERC, but also other academic insitututions in the region of South East Europe.
